The New York City fire department dispatched more than 100 firefighters to the scene, which took place in downtown Manhattan.
Firefighters received a call at 8:24 a.m. that a crane had fallen over on the corner of Worth Street and West Broadway in the neighborhood of TriBeCa.
According to NBC News, the FDNY sent at least 100 fighters to the scene, along with several EMS workers and police officers. Images show the toppled and overturned crane stretched out along an entire city block.
Several vehicles were damaged by the toppled construction crane. The New York Daily News reported that at least one person may have been trapped inside their car as a result of the incident.
