“They can pick and choose at random… which girls are filling out their clothes more…”
Lindsey Stocker, an 11th-grader at Beaconsfield High School in Quebec, Canada, has made a huge stir recently by standing up to her school's dress code policy.
Last week, Stocker was sent home for wearing these jean shorts. Two vice principals decided that her shorts did not pass the "finger-length test," which the school asks female students to use to judge appropriate clothing.
Stocker then hung up this sign in her school. It was up for only a few minutes before it was pulled down by the administration. That didn't stop a picture of it from going viral on Twitter and Tumblr.
“There’s a huge rape culture that educational systems aren’t really paying attention to," Stocker told Global News . “They’re actually contributing to it without realizing it.”
