The Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released the 2-minute 911 call from last week's shooting, in which Spirit identifies himself and gives the address of the home.

"When you get here, I'm going to shoot myself," he said. "Every one of them is dead."

As the dispatcher asked questions, Spirit's calm broke.

"I don't want to hear it, ma'am," he said. "Just bring the motherfuckers out here. "

The call came in around 4 p.m. on Thursday. It ends abruptly after the dispatcher asks Spirit to stay with her.

When a sheriff's deputy arrived at the home in the town of about 450 people, Spirit spoke with him briefly, then shot himself.

"As of this time, no clear or definitive motive can be determined," authorities said.

The children, who ranged in age from 11 years to 2 and a half months, were found dead inside the home. Sarah Spirit, their mother, was found outside. All appear to have died from a .45-caliber handgun, authorities said.

What's not clear is how Spirit obtained the gun. The convicted felon was barred from owning firearms legally.

Spirit had served three years in prison after he shot his 8-year-old son in a hunting accident. He also had a history of drug use and assault, public records said.

Sheriff Robert Schultz said law enforcement had been to the house on a number of occasions, and the Florida Department of Children and Families had investigated drug use, child abuse and domestic violence, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
