The Ohio Attorney General's office confirmed to BuzzFeed News Monday that the office was dropping all charges against McVey in exchange for his resignation.
The office said McVey also agreed to never be employed by the district again in any capacity.
"I am satisfied that he has been held accountable for his actions with this agreement and consider this a just result," Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said in a statement.
According to the Associated Press, McVey was accused of wiping computer hard drives, deleting emails and lying to investigators about what he knew about the incident.
McVey was one of six adults who were charged in the alleged cover-up of the rape, the Associated Press reported. Four of those cases have since been resolved.
