There is an active shooter situation in San Bernardino, California, the county Sheriff's Department said on Twitter.
The city's fire department reported on Twitter that people have been injured.
Police Sgt. Vicki Cervantes told local ABC affiliate at checkpoint: "It's a very active scene. Still very fluid." Police, she said, are trying to clear a building.
There are initial reports of 1 to 3 shooters, she said.
BuzzFeed News has been unable to confirm the accounts. San Bernardino police said they didn't have any immediate details.
