Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy was arrested late Wednesday night at the Portland, Oregon, airport while en route to an armed standoff between militia members and federal agents.
Bundy was taken into custody by the FBI, the agency confirmed in a statement. The Multnomah County Sheriff had a booking page for Bundy, but neither it nor the FBI listed any charges or explained why Bundy was arrested.
However, The Oregonian reported that Bundy was arrested on conspiracy charges stemming from his standoff with federal agents in 2014.
The arrest came just hours after the Bundy family had announced on Facebook and via email that Cliven was headed to Harney County, where the standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge has been taking place.
The Bundy family posted an update Wednesday night indicating Cliven was met at the airport by law enforcement.
