  • The Republican candidates for president will debate Saturday at 9 p.m. on CBS for the first time after Donald Trump's runaway win in the New Hampshire primaries.
  • Since then, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, and Jim Gilmore have dropped out of the race.
  • Trump will face his chief rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
  • Rubio will try to make this a big rebound night. He finished in a strong third place in the first nominating contest, the Iowa caucuses. But then he stumbled under a withering attack from Christie in a debate, and it seemed to impact him in New Hampshire.
  • Also look out for the dynamic between Trump and Cruz. Trump has been raising questions about Cruz's legal ability to run for president because he was born in Canada to an American citizen mother.
  • And Bush and Trump have antagonized each other at debates for months. Those tensions could spark up once again as Bush fights to climb in the polls.
  • The next GOP primary is in South Carolina on Feb. 20. The latest Augusta Chronicle poll shows Trump with 36%, Cruz with 20%, Rubio with 15%, Bush with 11%, Carson with 5%, and Kasich with 9%.
