At Least Two Reported Dead After School Shooting In Canada

A suspect has been arrested in the shooting, which occurred in the afternoon at a community school.

A shooting at a school in Saskatchewan, Canada, left at least two people dead, according to multiple reports.

The school posted a message on its Facebook page at about about 1:30 p.m. asking people to stay out of the area.

A nearby elementary school was also placed on lockdown.

"Words cannot express my shock and sorrow at the horrific events today in La Loche. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims, their families and friends and all the people of the community," Brad Wall, the Premier of Saskatchewan, posted in a message on Facebook.

The Saskatoon Starphoenix reported at least two people had been killed in the shooting, and that a suspect was in custody.

Several ambulances were dispatched to the area.

"Both Clearwater (River Dene Nation) and La Loche, a lot of people are in shock," Clearwater River Dene Nation Chief Teddy Clark told the newspaper. "This is something that you only see on TV most of the time."
