McCoy, 27, and Brinkley, 30, were out with a few friends – including Christopher Henderson and Pitt football player Tamarcus Porter – when the group got into a alcohol-fueled skirmish with three off-duty officers, local news outlets reported.

While the local outlets said three off-duty officers were involved, the Philadelphia Police Department report sent to BuzzFeed News said it was only two. The police report also said the suspects were "members of the National Football League" — though it only appears one was, according to the reports.

The officers were identified by NBC News affiliate CSNPhilly as Darnell Jessie, 40, Roland Butler, 40, and Sergeant Daniel Ayers.

The officers purchased four bottles of champagne from the bar of a club called Recess Lounge, according to CSNPhilly.

But Porter approached Butler "and tried to pull the bottle from his hand," according to a report obtained by CSNPhilly.

"An argument ensued as to the ownership of a bottle of Champaign [sic], which led to pushing and shoving," the police report sent to BuzzFeed News read.

The argument turned to blows after McCoy, Brinkley, and Henderson came to Porter's aid.

According to the report sent to BuzzFeed, Butler was knocked to the ground and "punched, kicked, and stomped about his body and head multiple times by all four subjects."

The other officers and a security came to break up the fight, the report said.

Butler was treated at a nearby hospital for a broken nose, ribs, sprained thumb, and lacerated eye. At a different hospital, Jessie reportedly received stitches to his eye and treatment for a possible skull fracture, CSNPhilly reported.

The four football players were identified by the officers and security guards through photographs, the report said. "Video surveillance was recovered from the outside of the club which shows both parties being ejected from the club; however, the incident itself wasn't captured on video," read the report sent to BuzzFeed News.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Philadelphia Police Department did not immediately respond to request for further comment. It is unknown whether any of the suspects are in custody or if there are warrants for their arrest.
