"We are looking for dog that's been here a long time and maybe not-so-adoptable," Stanley said, according to staff.

"Our matchmakers were delighted," the shelter said in its post.

Stanley and his girlfriend met a few dogs. But Stanley fell for a six-year-old dog named Winter, who was found on a vacant property on a hot day with no electricity or open windows.
