Fast-Moving Wildfires In Napa Valley Trigger Mass Evacuations

Ten wildfires have already burned hundreds of homes and businesses in California as people were forced to evacuate entire communities in the middle of the night.

Mass evacuations were ordered early Monday morning as fast moving fires burned through the Napa Valley region of Northern California, destroying homes and businesses overnight.

“We’ve been wondering, ‘Where in the heck are they?’” Windsor Fire Chief Jack Piccinini told the Press Democrat, early Monday morning. “I’ve asked, ‘Are units coming?’ and was told no, they’re going to the Atlas fire (in Napa County). That’s painful news to us. We’re still spread so thin.”
