The Prime Minister Was Shoved During A Visit To Leeds

The incident occurred in Leeds, where David Cameron was speaking about high-speed rail.


The prime minister was forced to defend himself in a remarkable security breach this afternoon after a man ran towards him.



The incident occurred as David Cameron was walking out of Leeds Civil Hall, where he was announcing government plans for a third high-speed rail line in the UK, HS3.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "No threats were made, and after the man's details were checked, he was de-arrested and allowed on his way."


The man was only arrested for a short period while the police were checking the man's information.


Cameron didn't appear to look particularly shocked by the incident and instead played it down before being helped into a car by his security detail.
