King's attorney Brent Bryson told the Associated Press that the musician had passed away in his sleep.

However, on Monday the AP received documents in which two of King's daughters, Patty King and Karen Williams, claim their father was poisoned.

The women accuse their father's business manager, LaVerne Toney, and his personal assistant, Myron Johnson, of killing him. Neither woman would comment on their allegations to the AP.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to the AP homicide detectives are looking into King's death. The department did not return a request for comment from BuzzFeed News.

Toney had power of attorney over King for years, KLAS-TV reported.

One of the musician's children, Shirley King, accused Toney of barring her and some of her siblings from seeing their father before he died.

"Just getting through this day is killing me," she told KLAS-TV. "Why would she not let me see my daddy before he leaves this earth?"

Some of King's children attempted to get Toney's power of attorney taken away before he died, but their request was tossed out by a judge, according to KLAS-TV.

An autopsy was performed on King's body on Sunday, the AP reported.

Two memorials for the singer are scheduled for this week in Memphis, Tennessee, and Indianola, Mississippi.
