Singer Christina Grimmie, who competed on NBC's The Voice, was shot Friday night after a concert in Orlando, Florida, police said.
Grimmie, 22, performed with the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live and stayed to sign autographs after the show, according to the Orlando Police Department.
A man then walked toward Grimmie and shot her around 10:45 p.m. local time, police said. Grimmie's brother tackled the man, who shot and killed himself, police said.
"Her brother is a hero for saving and stopping him from not hurting anyone else," Orlando police spokesperson Wanda Miglio said at a news conference, according to ABC News.
Police said she was in critical condition as of Friday night. She is at Orlando Regional Medical Center, according to local media.
