In response, academics around the world have created the hashtag #trollprofwatchlist in an attempt to dilute entries to the website.
A website where people can anonymously submit information about college professors who, "discriminate against conservative students and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom," has been met with backlash by academics.
The website, "Professor Watchlist", lists over a hundred professors at teaching posts across the US, who have made statements which creators of the website, student group Turning Point, deem to be discriminatory.
Turning Point are, according to their website, a non-profit student organization who want to, "promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government." Its founder is Charlie Kirk, who is deemed a future major player in US conservative politics.
Profiles on the website detail professors' positions, and the statements they have had said which are deemed "anti-American". There are also links out news articles which contain further information about allegations.
Examples of these controversial statements include a professor saying God is, "a white racist," and another teaching of a white privilege seminar.
