A man was detained after he scaled the fence at the White House Wednesday night.

The White House was put on lockdown Wednesday evening after a man jumped the North Lawn fence of the presidential residence. It was the 7th such incident this year.
Secret Service said the man was taken into custody by agents after being stopped by guard dogs on the White House lawn. Video from the scene showed the suspect kicking and punching a dog.
The cause of the incident was not immediately known, and comes in the wake of an incident last month where a man who scaled the fence made it inside the White House, ultimately leading to the resignation of Secret Service Director Julia Pearson.
