News footage showed multiple passengers being extracted from overturned rail cars Tuesday night.

Aerial television news footage showed multiple cars on their side as emergency crews worked to extract passengers.
It was unclear what caused the derailment. NBC News reported that there were about 250 people on the train.
A Philadelphia police dispatcher confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the train had derailed and at 10 p.m. called it a "very active scene." She did not know how many people were injured or if there were fatalities.
Multiple media reported that there were about 50 people injured.
