The athlete had been found guilty of culpable homicide, after shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
South African Olympian Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison for the culpable homicide of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius has also been given a three year sentence on a separate gun charge, which is wholly suspended, meaning he will not serve it.
