Police suspect the man first stabbed his 29-year-old wife and 25-year-old brother-in-law, before attacking a neighbor in their Long Beach apartment building, according to a statement released by the Long Beach Police Department.
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Derrick Lee Hunt, then walked to a nearby convalescent home across the street from his home.

Long Beach Police said the motive for the string of stabbings Friday was not immediately clear.
Police arrived to the area about two minutes after the first 911 call was made, officials said.
As officers neared the apartment complex, they were flagged down by people who pointed them toward the suspect, according to the statement.
Police did not release details as to how the shooting occurred, but said the officers opened fire when they encountered the suspect.
