Experts have been predicting for days that a large swath of Mount Mannen, which means 'the man' in English, is about to come tumbling down, according to local reports.

Heavy rain in the region has caused large rock masses to shift, and geologists are predicting a spectacular collapse. They just can't say when it's going to happen.

"The potential failure is in the order of 120,000 cubic meters, so the final collapse, should it occur, will be quite spectacular," according to a blog entry from geography expert Dave Petley, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.

A Primary-School Supply Teacher Resigned After Taping A Child's Mouth Shut

The incident happened at Fowlmere Primary School in Cambridgeshire.

SWNS

The act was apparently meant as a joke, but one parent, who didn't wish to be named, told South West News Service: "It doesn't matter whether it was a joke or not." The charity Kidscape described the act as "a form of child abuse".

The school has apologised to the pupil's parents.

Although there was no ill intent or unkindness intended, it is clear this incident should not have happened and the member of staff has resigned from their post. We have spoken to the child's parents and apologised as this fell below the standards we expect.

I have every confidence that the people in charge at Fowlmere Primary, the headteacher and the governors, have done whatever was needed to be done and have handled this properly. The teacher has resigned and I would think there is really no further need for any parent to be concerned.

Legally High: Marijuana Initiatives On The Ballot In 3 States And D.C.

BuzzFeed News takes a look at the states where voters will decide on marijuana legislation on Nov. 4 — and whether the initiatives have a chance of passing.

Buds are removed from a container at a medical marijuana dispensary in Portland, Oregon.

Steve Dipaola / Reuters

America's attitude toward marijuana has been slowly shifting over the past decades, with polls now indicating that a majority of people in the country now support legalization.

In 2012, Washington and Colorado become the first states to legalize recreational use of the drug. Eighteen states have decriminalized marijuana, and 23 states have passed laws in support of medical marijuana.

Legislatures have been slow to support marijuana, so advocates have taken action by pushing for voter decided ballot measures. On Nov. 4, Residents in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington, D.C., will decide whether to legalize marijuana. In Florida and Guam, a U.S. territory, voters will decide on a medical marijuana program, and a few cities have added decriminalization bills to the ballot.

Alaskans will vote Tuesday on a ballot measure that would legalize a market for recreational marijuana, allowing the state to tax and regulate the drug similarly to alcohol. The measure would also allow residents to possess one ounce of marijuana and grow limited amounts in private.

Alaska was one of the first states to decriminalize weed in 1975 and legalized medical marijuana in 1998. Despite this, thousands of Alaskans have been arrested for possession and there's no system for medical card holders to acquire weed from dispensaries. Supporters say the new measure would strengthen Alaska's existing laws, which legislators aren't upholding.

Recent polls have shown voters are split on the issue, with one poll showing a majority of voters supporting the measure, and another showing the opposite. If marijuana is legalized in Alaska, it could bring in more than $7 million in state taxes in its first year, according to a marijuana advocacy group.

Ferguson Grand Jury Cleared Of Misconduct After "Hacked" Tweet

Officials in St. Louis County said Thursday that someone hacked a Twitter account and tweeted about the grand jury investigation into Michael Brown’s death.

Protestors at the St. Louis County Justice Center on Aug. 20.

Mark Kauzlarich / Reuters

St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch made the statement in a letter released Thursday, saying that "no information or evidence has been released by the grand jury."

The letter was a response to a controversy that erupted earlier this month when it appeared that someone on the grand jury — which is supposed to conduct its investigation entirely behind closed doors — was talking to a Twitter user going by the name Susan Nichols. In a tweet that was quickly deleted, Nichols suggested Officer Darren Wilson wouldn't face charges for killing Brown.

Later, other would-be exclusive information trickled out in several news stories, including ones published by The New York Times and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

McCulloch's letter argues that none of the information became public via leaks from the grand jury.

"As exasperating as I and others find the piecemeal release of information and documents," he wrote, "no information or evidence has been released by the grand jury, any individual juror or anyone associated with the grand jury."

The Employment Relations Amendment Bill, the first bill passed by the conservative National party in their third term of government, survived a narrow 62 to 58 vote, reports the New Zealand Herald.

The legislation removes meal breaks, which had been guaranteed in law in 2008, in return for requiring employers to pay workers extra when breaks are not provided.

The National party argues the law will enable more flexibility in the labor market.

But the law has outraged unions, as well as the opposition Labour and Greens parties, because it weakens collective bargaining rights.

Before the vote, Council of Trade Unions president Helen Kelly said the bill showed "outrageous disregard for the human condition".

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key had said the tea break aspect of the bill was being used to “frighten people”.

"There are some really practical examples of where people just say, 'I want to negotiate with my employer and get rid of that tea break,'" he said.

"Post the passing of this law, will you all of a sudden find thousands of workers who are denied having a tea break? The answer is absolutely not."

Senator Leahy Criticizes FBI For Creating Fake News Story

The letter comes after agents created a fake Associated Press article to nab a suspected school bomber in Seattle in 2007. This is the latest in a series of incidents in which cops have been criticized for pretending to be someone else.

United States Attorney General Eric Holder, left, and Senator Patrick Leahy, right.

Gary Cameron / Reuters

Senator Patrick Leahy isn't happy with feds pretending to be journalists online — even if they are going after dangerous suspects.

On Thursday, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking him to review "all techniques involving federal law enforcement officials impersonating others without their consent."

Leahy's letter comes just days after the American Civil Liberties Union revealed that agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation created a fake Associated Press article, as part of a 2007 operation to catch a potential school bomber.

A high school in Washington State had received bomb threats; the FBI created the fake article to lure a teenage suspect into unknowingly downloading software that allowed the bureau to trace his computer activity. The operation resulted in the arrest and conviction of a juvenile suspect, the Seattle Times reported.

Still, Sen. Leahy raised questions about the bureau's techniques.

"Such tactics carry legal and ethical risks," Leahy wrote in the letter. "When law enforcement appropriates the identity of legitimate media institutions, it not only raises questions of copyright and trademark infringement but also potentially undermines the integrity and credibility of an independent press."

A spokesman with the FBI's national headquarters said that the bureau generally does not comment on correspondence with lawmakers. In a statement issued earlier this week after the AP incident became public, the bureau's Seattle Division said that its agents only impersonate others when not doing so could put people in danger.

"Use of that type of technique happens in very rare circumstances and only when there is sufficient reason to believe it could be successful in resolving a threat," Special Agent in Charge Frank Montoya said in the statement. "We were fortunate that information provided by the public gave us the opportunity to step into a potentially dangerous situation before it was too late.'

The office of Attorney General Holder did not return requests for comment.

The AP also did not return requests for comment. Earlier this week, a spokesman with the news agency told the Washington Post that the company was "extremely concerned" about the incident, which he said "violated AP's name and undermined AP's credibility."

The incident with the AP is just the last one in a recent string of cases in which federal law enforcement agents have impersonated people or institutions to obtain information.

Earlier this month, BuzzFeed News' Chris Hamby revealed that the Drug Enforcement Administration created a fake Facebook profile under the name of a cooperating witness. Agents used the profile to communicate with suspects and gather information, going as far as posting intimate pictures of the witness — without her permission.

This week, attorneys for a Malaysian poker player (and alleged triad member) asked a Las Vegas judge to suppress evidence that FBI agents gathered by shutting down the defendant's Internet access — and then gaining access to his hotel room by dressing up as technicians.
