Tens Of Thousands Gather To See Pope Francis In Washington D.C.

A White House meeting with President Obama tops the Pope’s agenda on Wednesday. While in the nation’s capital, he will also take part in a parade around the President’s Park, and address American bishops and Congress.

An estimated 15,000 people are expected to gather outside of the White House Wednesday morning when Pope Francis arrives for a meeting with President Obama.

The Washington Post reported back in April that Obama had hinted at discussing with Pope Francis such issues as poverty, climate change, and the unrest in the Middle East during their meeting, which has been scheduled for 9:15 a.m.
