Just when you finally got off Facebook…
Twitter is mulling changing its 140 character limit to up to 10,000 characters, BuzzFeed News confirmed.
Re/code was first to report the news Tuesday.

Re/code, citing "multiple anonymous sources," said that the social media company is working on a brand new Twitter product which, among other changes, could raise the character limit on your tweets.
Though the launch date is not set in stone, the sources said it's targeted toward the end of the first quarter, which ends March 31.
10,000 characters is not the final number for the character limit, but one presumably taken from the limit for Twitter direct messages – which has its 140 character limit lifted last year.
The sources say the new limit could be anything "Beyond 140," which is also the name Twitter insiders give the upcoming product, Re/code reported.
Despite the considered extension, Twitter is not planning on turning your feed turn into a series of long, Facebookish, rants from your distant relatives, the sources said.
An option the company is reportedly considering is only showing the first 140 characters of the tweet, then giving a "see more" option for the user to click through to the other 9,860.
Twitter declined BuzzFeed News' request for comment.
