The quake stuck on the 37th anniversary of the powerful 1985 Mexico City earthquake that devastated the region, killing as many as 10,000 people.
A powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake rattled Mexico City Tuesday, just days after a previous quake killed at least 90 people in the southern states.

The US Geological Survey the epicenter of the earthquake struck central Mexico near the town of Raboso, about 76 miles southeast of Mexico City.
There were no immediate official estimates on the number of victims and damage caused to the city and elsewhere.
The quake also comes on the 37th anniversary of the powerful 1985 Mexico City earthquake that devastated the region, killing as many as 10,000 people. And earlier in the day, residents throughout the city had participated in preparedness drills to commemorate the disaster.
