Two vehicles were struck by projectiles Wednesday in Phoenix, Arizona, and police are now looking into the incidents as part of an investigation into a potential shooting spree.

Both vehicles were hit in their windows, Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) spokesman Bart Graves told BuzzFeed News. One of the incidents happened about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday just nine miles west of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

In that case, the Associated Press reported that a truck's window was "shattered."

Graves said the incidents are under investigation, but did not provide additional details.

Graves said police are looking into a total of 11 similar "incidents," many of them in the same area and targeting vehicles.

The first three shootings happened Aug. 29, according to the DPS. In one of those shootings, which happened on Interstate 10, a 13-year-old girl was injured by shattered glass.

Graves said the girl remains the only person injured in the shootings.

In another incident, which occurred on Aug. 31, a man was driving a work truck when he "heard a loud bang," according to DPS. The driver thought a rock had hit the truck, but later inspection showed damage was "consistent with a bullet strike."

One of the shootings also involved a bus, which was pockmarked by what appeared to be a bullet hole.
