Three California men are accused of tying up a friend, stabbing him to death and recording the killing on a cell phone.

The men are suspected of then taking the man's body into an almond orchard and burning it, the Merced Sun-Star reported.

Authorities learned about the killing when a woman told authorities her ex-boyfriend showed her a video on his cell phone of the man being killed, the paper reported.

According to Merced County Jail records, Dionicio Gutierrez Salazar, 36, Francisco Alvarez, 24, and Alexis Eduardo Garcia-Jimenez, 19, were booked into county jail Wednesday and are being held in lieu of $1 million bond each.

The three men were booked on suspicion of first-degree murder.

The victim has been identified only as a man in his late 30s or early 40s.

Merced County Sheriff officials told the Sun-Star the men were drinking at a house in Merced when they began to argue and became violent. Officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment from BuzzFeed News.

The victim was then tied up and stabbed while one of the men recorded the attack on his cell phone.

The body was then rolled into a rug and taken to an almond orchard where it was burned.

The woman went to authorities Monday, and one of the men led law enforcement to the torched body, officials said.
