“There is not a place in hell dark enough for you. You are the most disgusting person on the planet. Please may your fate find you,” @BoxersNYC tweeted to Rev. Sharpton.
A New York City chain of gay sports bars has apologized for a series of tweets sent from its account Saturday night in the wake of the shooting deaths of two NYPD officers, telling BuzzFeed News the account "was obviously hacked."

"There is not a place in hell dark enough for you. You are the most disgusting person on the planet. Please may your fate find you," an account belonging to BoxersNYC tweeted in reply to a post from the Rev. Al Sharpton condemning the officers' murder.
Another tweet to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio read, "How are you going to turn your disgusting mouth into political gain using cops [sic] death? Resign loser."
"Someone has obviously hacked the account," Fluet said, describing himself as "not a tech-savvy person."
Fluet said the bar's social media manager was traveling at the time of the tweets and was also surprised and shocked to learn they had been posted, suggesting someone might have the account's password and may have "snuck in."
"If it's someone trying to obviously hurt us in some way, we're going to have to do our homework, but it's not us," he said. "Somebody's trying to make us look bad."
The tweets were deleted from the account, but screenshots were widely shared on social media.
