Donald Trump bragged about his permit to carry a concealed weapon in New York City during the Republican debate on Wednesday evening, as he argued that gun-free zones are like “target practice” and a “feeding frenzy” for sick and mentally-ill people.

"I have a permit, which his very unusual in New York — a permit to carry,” he said during the CNBC’s debate. "And I do carry on occasion. Sometimes, a lot. But I like to be unpredictable.”

"By the way, unlike our country where we are totally predictable, the enemy whether it’s ISIS or anybody else, they know exactly what we’re doing because we have the wrong leadership,” he added.

The real estate mogul also said he would feel more comfortable if more people had permits to carry. His response came after a question about the recent mass shooting at a community college in Oregon.

“I feel that that the gun-free zones that’s target practice for the sickos and the mentally ill. They look around for gun-free zones. I think gun-free zones are a catastrophe. They are a feeding frenzy for sick people."
