Multiple homes were reportedly destroyed and several people were injured during the atypically violent December storms on Wednesday.
One tornado touched down in Holly Springs, Mississippi, where witnesses reported seeing overturned cars and other damage.
In Clarksdale, Mississippi, about 90 miles southwest of Holly Springs, Mayor Bill Luckett told the Associated Press about 20 homes may have been hit by a tornado. Luckett also said debris from a tornado killed a dog.
At least four people were also injured during the storm, CNN reported.
