At Least 65 People Dead After Explosion Hits Factory In East China

The blast happened Saturday in Kunshan, Jiangsu, according to Chinese state media.


The explosion happened at 7:37 a.m. in a car polishing workshop, according to the Associated Press. More than 120 people were injured, multiple media sources also reported. The cause of the blast was not immediately known Saturday morning.


Kunshun is located near Shanghai and about 600 miles from Beijing. According to Chinese media company Sina, the factory has about 450 employees.
