NEW YORK — At least one man was arrested in Manhattan on Wednesday, after some 200 people took to the streets of the East Village to protest of the death of Michael Brown, a black teenager who last week was killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

The man was arrested around 10:00 p.m., near the corner of East 10th street and Szlabo. Police officers were seen beating the man down to the ground and handling him forcefully as the crowd looked on.

The protesters chanted slogans familiar from the protests that have rocked Ferguson over the last few days, including "Hands up, don't shoot!" and "No justice, no peace."

A man carrying a large black flag was seen leading the march. Many of the protesters wore black shirts and bandanas.
