Shooter Kills TV News Reporter And Cameraman During A Live Broadcast In Virginia

The shooter opened fire on the WDBJ7 news crew while they were doing a live interview in the town of Moneta, Virginia. WARNING: This post contains graphic video showing the moment the assailant shoots both people.

Authorities in Franklin and Bedford counties in Virginia are searching for a suspect wanted for fatally shooting two people Wednesday morning at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, BuzzFeed News confirmed with WDBJ7, the local station on the scene when the incident began.

The moment of the attack was captured on camera while a local TV news station conducted a live interview.

Local police identified the victims during a press conference Wednesday morning as Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

A WDBJ7 representative told BuzzFeed News that Parker, who had just turned 24, was dating Chris Hurst, the station's 6 o'clock news anchor. Ward, 27, had been engaged to a woman named Melissa Ott.

The representative added that state police are currently conducting an investigation into their deaths.
