Barack Obama will hold his end-of-the-year news conference Friday at 1:50 p.m.

He'll likely touch on several major issues such as ISIS, terrorism, and criminal justice reform. He may also touch on topics that have faced major challenges by the Republican-controlled Congress — including immigration and gun control.

The end-of-year speech comes just a week after the U.S. and 196 other nations reached a historic climate change agreement that includes a number of provisions aimed at reforming fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions, including a cap on any increase in global temperature at 1.5 degrees celsius.

In his 2014 end of the year speech, Obama made major news by criticizing Sony's move to pull "The Interview," a comedic film about a plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

"I think they made a mistake," he said.

Sony pulled the film after the company was hacked and some of its employees received threats.

"I wish they had spoken to me first," he continued. "I would have told them, do not get into a pattern in which you’re intimidated by these kinds of criminal attacks."
