Two Boys Declared Co-Champions Of National Spelling Bee

Ansun Sujoe and Sriram Hathwar both won the 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee after spelling all words in the final round.


Speller Gokul Venkatachalam, of Chesterfield, Mo., was one of three finalists until he misspelled the word "antigropelos," which means waterproof leggings.

Speller Ansun Sujoe, of Fort Worth, Texas, was also one of the last three finalists of the 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee Thursday, and he did stumble on the word "Kierkegaardian," but was given a second chance when his opponent misspelled a word.
