A panel of mental health experts have concluded that Oscar Pistorius was not suffering from a mental illness when he shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp.

The trial of Oscar Pistorius resumed in Pretoria on the morning of June 30 after a monthlong evaluation in which a psychologist and three psychiatrists determined whether or not Pistorius understood the difference between right and wrong when he shot Steenkamp. Prosecutor Gerrie Nel noted that the experts believed Pistorius was "capable of appreciating the wrongfulness of his act."

Pistorius was evaluated as an outpatient at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital in Pretoria, and had been staying at home of his uncle as he is free on bail.
