Hulu is reportedly paying $180 million for all of the Seinfeld reruns.
Hulu has acquired the rights to the 180 reruns of Seinfeld, making a deal with Sony Pictures TV for nearly $1 million per episode, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The money from the deal will reportedly be split between the distributor Sony TV, Time Warner's Castle Rock, and Seinfeld profit participants, including co-creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David.
The deal is expected to be announced at Hulu's upfront presentation early Wednesday morning. A representative from Hulu declined to comment to a request from BuzzFeed News. Sony Pictures TV did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News' request for comment.
The acquisition is one of the biggest for Hulu to date. Hulu made another big deal in February with CBS TV Distribution for more than 300 episodes of the serial drama CSI.
Last year, Netflix acquired the rights to Warner Bros. still popular Friends sitcom from the 1990s for about $500,000 an episode.
