Trump’s remarks came after he reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination for president.
Shortly after Donald Trump nabbed enough delegates to clinch the Republican nomination for president on Thursday, the businessman he'd "love" to debate Bernie Sanders for $10 million.
"I'd love to debate Bernie," Trump said at a press conference in Bismark, North Dakota. "He's a dream," he added.
Trump said he would debate Sanders to raise money for "women's health issues or something."
He said the debate would take place "in a big arena somewhere" and it would get high ratings.
"I understand the television business very well," he said. "We could have a lot of fun with it."
Trump said he was "honored" to win enough delegates needed to clinch the nomination and added that he had received "tremendous support" from many Republicans in Congress. When asked why Speaker of the House Paul Ryan had not endorsed him yet, Trump said he had a "very good conversation" with Ryan Wednesday night. "That's moving along. He's a good man."
Trump also took digs at Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has assailed the businessman in tweets and speeches. Disputing her claims of being Native American, Trump referred to her as "Pocahontas" — despite one audience member responding, "That's very offensive."
He then said, "She's as Native American as I am."
When asked whether banning Muslims from entering the U.S. was still in his policy plans, Trump said radical Islamic terrorism was a problem everywhere, adding, "We're going to find a problem and come up with a solution."
