One person suffered critical injuries after a shooting was reported near the White House on Friday.
Details of the shooting were not immediately clear, but the White House was placed on lockdown shortly after the shots were fired, journalists on the scene reported.
The shooting was reported along W. Executive Drive.
The District of Columbia Fire and EMS department said one person suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
According to White House Press Pool reports, President Obama was not at the White House at the time of the shooting.
