At Los Angeles’ Venice Beach, 13 people were stuck by lightning Sunday afternoon and two are in critical condition, authorities said . On Catalina Island, another person was also reportedly hit by lightning.
A rare lightning storm happened Sunday afternoon at Venice Beach, injuring 13 people, including a 15-year-old, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main said.
At least two people were critically injured during the incident.
