Hey, anything is better than bae, right?
Vape — which means "to inhale and exhale the vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or similar device" — has officially been named Oxford Dictionary's word of the year.

According to Oxford Dictionary's blog, it was chosen because it's become an incredibly common word very quickly. The blog wrote that you're thirty times more likely to come across the word vape than you were two years ago.
So what words were the runner-ups? One was "bae," defined as "a term of endearment for one’s romantic partner."
"Slacktivism," defined as "informal actions performed via the Internet in support of a political or social cause but regarded as requiring little time or involvement."
