Three-year-old Gracie Lynn Evans was at the Bob Evans restaurant in Evansville when she saw a familiar figure eating alone, and that troubled her.
With the help of Gracie's grandmother, the little girl got the OK to greet the Christmas celebrity, and rushed to his table to give him a big hug. The kind 3-year-old kept Santa company while he ate his breakfast, and the two enjoyed a friendly chat.
WFIE News says Gracie's mother said that the pair "talked like they'd known each other for years". She apparently requested that she could live with Mr and Mrs Claus, but didn't ask for any presents: instead she just wanted to meet her baby brother James, who is to be born in a few weeks.
According to the Huffington Post, they also discussed Frozen (of course), and Gracie hasn't stopped talking about her new friend since.
