Two police officers have been shot in Lewisburg, West Virginia, dispatcher Metro 911 confirmed to BuzzFeed News.
Both suspects are now in custody, tweeted WCHS reporter Katy Brown.
The officers reportedly encountered the suspects after pulling their vehicle over after noticing it had a potentially stolen license plate number, WVGazette.com reported. When they tried to stop the car from driving away, both officers were shot, one in a bullet proof vest.
Brown tweeted that both officers were taken to the hospital by ambulance and are expected to be OK. She added that the officer shot in the bullet proof vest had minor injuries to his ribs. The other officer's injuries are unclear.
