A multi-state police pursuit ended Wednesday with officers beating a suspect on live TV after he appeared to surrender.
The chase started in Holden, Massachusetts, around 4 p.m. when a man wanted on multiple warrants refused to stop, WCVB reported.
During the pursuit, police rear ended the suspect's gray pickup truck and it skidded into a telephone pole, leaving it unable to drive further.
After speeding through several towns, the suspect got out of the truck in Nashua, New Hampshire, around 5 p.m. with officers surrounding him with weapons drawn. The suspect appeared to be kneeling on the ground surrendering when several officers approached and began punching him. The incident was captured on video by a local Fox affiliate's news helicopter.
The suspect was later taken into custody, the station reported.
There was no immediate word on the suspect's identity or condition.
Massachusetts State Police told BuzzFeed News they planned to issue a statement later on Wednesday.
