The daredevil walked a steep incline on a tightrope between two Chicago buildings, then made another walk blindfolded.
Nik Wallenda's first walk between the Marina City west tower to the Leo Burnett Building, a 454-foot stretch, was on a 19-degree incline.
The next part was a blindfolded 94-foot walk – 543 feet from the ground – between the two Marina City towers.
The Chicago Tribune reported:
Wallenda scrapped plans to take a self-portrait with his phone amid concerns about the nickel-size cable's movement. He initially had predicted the first walk would take 15 minutes, but it quickly became apparent that he did not intend to dawdle at 600 feet.
Both walks broke world records.
Wallenda waved to the crowd before embarking on his first walk.
