U.S. And China Strike Major Climate Change Deal After Secret Negotiations

The agreement was reached during secret negotiations while Obama was visiting China.

As part of the agreement, the U.S. will produce as much as 20% less carbon in 2025 than it did in 2005, The New York Times reported.


For its part, China agreed to top out its carbon emissions by 2030. China plans to turn to renewable energy in order to meet those goals, with wind power playing a particularly significant role.
