Monitoring group says more strikes against militant positions took place overnight.
The U.S. and its allies appear to have again conducted airstrikes against oil fields controlled by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in eastern Syria, according to a group monitoring the conflict in the country.
Reuters reported claims by the Syrian Observatory for Human RIghts that strikes hit the al-Tanak oilfield area in the eastern province of Deir al-Zor, close to the Iraqi border.
The region is almost entirely controlled by ISIS militants, and was one of Syria's main oil-producing areas until the country's civil war erupted three years ago.
There were other apparent airstrikes in the al-Quriyah area, also apparently carried out by U.S. led forces, the monitoring group said.
The group added that there were casualties, but did not give details.
