Most people managed to make their way down Mount Ontake’s slope, but it seems some weren’t so lucky.
Just before noon on Saturday, Mount Ontake in central Japan erupted.
Now, according to the AP, more than 30 people have been found dead near the peak of the volcano,

Reuters reports the national broadcaster NHK currently says the bodies are in a state of "cardiopulmonary" arrest.
This is, according to AP, "The customary way for Japanese authorities to describe a body until police doctors can examine it".

The eruption registered a three (out of five) on the Japanese Meteorological Agency's danger scale.
Previously, a Nagano prefecture fire department spokesman had told Reuters: "Seven people were lightly injured and one person suffered serious injuries as a result of the eruption.”
