Police are searching for a white male in his 40s in connection with the shooting, ABC 15 reported. It is unknown whether police believe he is the lone gunman.

ABC 15 reported that at least four people had been shot including a student at the East Valley Institute of Technology. Other outlets said six people were shot.

Police are working at as many as five different crime scenes, the station reported.

The school and a campus of Mesa Community College have been placed on lockdown.
