Southwest Airlines said the shirt – promoting the Comedy Central TV show Broad City – was offensive. But the student refused to remove it, citing freedom of speech.
His flight made a pit-stop at Lambert Airport in St. Louis due to bad weather in Chicago, and Podolsky reportedly got off the plane to use the bathroom. He said while walking around he wore the shirt under a jacket, but once he got back on the plane, he took the jacket off.
