It appears to be quite warm down there.
Here's George Karounis just popping down into the Ambrum Volcano.
He told the Huffington Post it was "like a window into hell".
And that it was a descent of 1,200 feet – "like a reverse clmbing of Everest".
Apparently the splashes of lava melted holes in his clothes.
He also told the website there was "terrible weather, tremendous heat from the lava, descending and ascending 400 meters of near vertical, loose rock face, acid rain so strong that it could have come from a car battery, and a variety of other craziness."
