Video from a police officer’s body camera shows first responders struggling to pry open the doors of a car that plunged into a Utah river. A baby, found inside, is then hurried to waiting paramedics.

The video, captured from the body cameras of officers from the Spanish Fork Police Department, captured the moment officers realized an 18-month-old girl was hanging on her car seat, inches from the cold water.

Authorities told the Associated Press they believe the baby, Lily, had been hanging over the river for 14 hours.

"Definitely hypothermic," one rescuer is heard saying in the video. "She's freezing."

"All four of us can swear that we heard someone inside the car saying, 'Help," Officer Jared Warner told local station KSL.

In the video, officers are seen rushing toward the river, where the red vehicle sat upside down.

The girl's mother, Lynn Groesbeck, 25, died in the front seat of the car.

"There's a baby," another responder is heard.

The Associated Press reported a fisherman first spotted the car March 7, after it had apparently hit a cement barrier on a bridge and crashed into the river. The wreck was not seen by overhead traffic for hours.

A fundraising page set up by friends of Jennifer Groesbeck has raised more than $74,000 so far.
